WiFi off Ring device

Hi, I have a question. I have a Ring device at my house, and I’ll be away next week. A friend will be taking care of my house, and I want to keep track of any movement while I’m gone. I plan to do this through the Ring app, but I’m concerned that the WiFi might be turned off, which would prevent me from monitoring the activity.

If the WiFi gets turned off, is there a way for my system to notify me? My Ring device only has a motion sensor, not a camera. Thanks!

You should receive a notification from the alarm base station saying it lost WiFi and is now running on mobile data. The sensors will still function normally.

But the bigger question is, why are you trusting someone to look after your house if you’re worried they might turn off the WiFi against your wishes?!

Why would they turn off the WiFi?

Also, no, the system won’t work without an internet connection. It needs WiFi or a mobile data backup to keep functioning properly.

This must be a joke. You sound like your 9?! If true, I think you should find someone else.
